Collars and tags are common for pet identification, but what if they go missing? That’s where microchipping comes in: as a reliable and secure method to ensure your pet always has a permanent form of ID.
Microchips are tiny electronic chips, no bigger than a grain of rice, that are implanted just beneath your pet’s skin using a needle similar to those used for vaccinations. Each chip has a unique number that’s registered with a pet recovery database.
Should your pet ever get lost and be brought to a shelter or vet, a quick scan of the microchip can help identify them, allowing the service to reach out and help bring your beloved pet back home to you.
We recommend that all pets get a microchip. If you’d like to book a microchip appointment, please give us a call!
