Physical Examinations

An office visit with one of our doctors includes a thorough physical examination. Whether your pet is here for a routine wellness visit for annual vaccinations and preventative care, or a sick visit when he/she isn’t feeling well, you can know we will treat them like family.

During a physical exam, our veterinarian will check several key aspects of your pet’s health. Here are some of the main areas they focus on:

  1. General Appearance and Behavior: The vet observes how your pet moves and interacts, looking for any signs of discomfort or abnormal behavior.
  2. Head and Neck: They examine the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth for any signs of infection, inflammation, or other issues. This includes checking the teeth and gums for dental health.
  3. Skin and Coat: The vet looks for signs of parasites, infections, or skin conditions.
  4. Heart and Lungs: Using a stethoscope, they listen to your pet’s heart and lungs to detect any abnormalities.
  5. Abdomen: They palpate the abdomen to check for any unusual lumps or pain.
  6. Musculoskeletal System: The vet assesses your pet’s muscles and joints for signs of arthritis or other issues.

Regular wellness exams are crucial for catching potential health problems early and keeping your pet in the best possible health. We want to work with you to make sure your beloved pet stays in tip top shape!
